Tony DiSanto ,
Tony DiSanto is Executive Vice President, Series Development & Animation, MTV: Music Television, and Head of Programming, MTV2. In this role, DiSanto oversees production and development for long form series and animation for MTV and MTV2. DiSanto has been responsible for some of the most successful programming on MTV including “Laguna Beach,” “Run’s House,” “The Andy Milonakis Show,” “Nick Cannon’s Wild N Out,” “The Hills,” “8th & Ocean,” “Made,” “RoomRaiders,” and many more. He is currently working on producing the next round of hit programming including sketch comedy shows “Human Giant” and “Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz” as well as a scripted drama, “Kaya,” and the user-gen series, “Scarred”. DiSanto also served as Executive Producer and Co-Creator “Total Request Live” (TRL). Earlier, as Senior Vice President of Production, DiSanto was responsible for overseeing the creative and physical production of MTV's video-based programming from the Times Square studios, as well as the production of weekend programming stunts, events and series. Prior to that position, as Vice President, Executive Producer of MTV Production, DiSanto oversaw production of programming stunts such as “Spankin’ New Music Week,”, and created the hit series “Say What? Karaoke,” which ran on air for over five years, and the aforementioned TRL. DiSanto began his career as a freelance director, having worked in a variety of media, including directing music videos, home videos, and short films. During his career, he has worked with a slew of talent including Jon Stewart, Marlon Wayons, Carson Daly, Jenny McCarthy, Jimmy Kimmel, David Arquette, Countey Cox-Arquette, P. Diddy, Russell Simmons, and Quincy Jones. DiSanto is a graduate of New York University’s film school.
