Pros: Everything is blazing about this card. Yet contrary to other reviews, my temp at full load maxes around 83c, Idle about 48c. I have a very small case. I did upgrade the PSU to accomodate this card. I purchased a Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650W and it is more than adequate. To me this card is worth it, I got the 470 at first and returned it. Glad I did. This card is 1-1/2X faster.

Pros
- It has enough power to run every game I own on max settings at 1920x1080
- Installation was a breeze
- No driver issues (specifically why I did not buy an ATI card)
- It doesn't do anything funky when the monitor goes to power save mode (the 2nd reason I didn't buy an ATI card)

Cons
- A very long video card (seriously, look at the measurements and then actually measure your computer case to make sure it fits. I have a large PC case and it almost touches one of the internal features, also it blocks 2 of my SATA ports on the motherboard)
- It can get very loud under load. The fan dynamically changes it's speed to accommodate the load the card. When I'm not in a game or watching a movie, I can't hear the fan over the rest of the PC noise. But as soon as I start up a game, the volume raises by 50%-100% depending on what's happening on screen.

I absolutely love this video card. Yeah, it perhaps wasn't as good as all the hype around it, but it's still the best video card right now on the consumer market.

I built a new computer, upgrading from a Core 2 Quad to an i7 930. My old computer was running 2 260's in SLI. One 480 is still a decent amount better than 2 260's, I ran a benchmark of 3D Mark Vantage and here are my scores:

Old Computer
Core 2 Quad Q9400
CPU Score: 30507
2 260's SLI
GPU Score: 13712

New Computer
Intel Core i7-930
CPU Score: 50856
(This video card)
GPU Score: 17809

As you can see, a whole shitload difference in upgrading to an i7 (So I'm going to have to say that is very recommended if you are still running a core2 quad). As for the video card, egh, not so much, but roughly a 130% increase over my previous setup. I would say it was a nice buy if you have the money to spend on it - but if you are on any kind of budget perhaps go with one of the 200~ series which should have dropped in price quite a bit.

If you are considering an ATI card... I have read really good reviews on the ~5000 series, but I personally would not recommend an ATI card, I can not stand their driver support, tho most of my experience with their cards are in laptops.

Anyway, my last comment on this card will be that I'll probably buy a second so I can go SLI.
