A thoughtful, carefully investigated and documented contribution by Mr. Gasparino, this eye opening look at financial chicanery should help us all to understand what is really goning on. Never was the axiom "the first step to solving a problem is to recognize it" more true. Of course, that requires objectivity, not party line sheep.

What an eye opener. Not so surprising when you think about it. Obama's actions, especially the so called stimulus package, have alienated him from many of the people who voted for him. Now that we've moved into Fall, whatever happened to the "recovery summer" we were promised? Unemployment of the people continues around ten percent and the Banks seem to have "recovered" beyond all expectations. Gasparino offers insight into where Obama seeks to shore up his falling power. He's lost much of the populace with what he's done and now turns to the money people to make up for what his failed policies have cost him in popular support. Politics makes for strange bedfellows . . . as Gasparino tells it maybe it's not so strange to find this failing president has gotten into bed with big money.

I was looking for a quality unit to replace my old seperate laser printer and old laser fax machine. They were both just B&W, and seriously worn out, could only use one page at a time! As well, I just inheriteted a bunch of old photographs that I need to scan soon, which in turn creates the need to create custom CD's and DVD's. I finally settled on the Epson Artisan 810. 

I noticed that some units are marketed as "All-In-One" but don't have fax, so buyer beware! Those have only scan, copy, and print. A true all-in-one should also include fax IMHO. 

In general, I was looking for the following in a well rounded unit: 
-High quality photo scanning 
-Printing onto CD's directly (without a label) 4x6 and 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper 
-Easy multi-page faxing 
-Easily attached to a wireless network so our 6 computers can share 
-Quick B&W letter printing 
-Seperate ink tanks to reduce wasted cartridges 
-Automatic 'duplex printing' to print out on both sides using half the psaper. 
-An easy way to scan directly to email. 
-Needed to look GOOD, and be usuable in seconds. 
- AND to use very little electricity 

The Epson 810 is a perfect match!!! It does everything we need, and does it simply and very little human input. 

All funtions and interfaces are well conceived. You can be either 'PC Centric' and do everything from your PC, or you could be copier centric, and do almost everything just standing there at the copier, and get almost everything done. Very simpple controls. You even have the option to 'print' your document to the Epson FAX, which bypasses the paper and simply sends a high quality fax. Epson included a few iof these 'nicely done' features you will learn and love. There are only 2 buttons on the command panel, everything else is touch-screen as needed. 

The quality is primo, the unit is simple to set up and use, and the breath of features you'll need are surprisingly complete. Well engineereed. Operating costs seem to be normal for ink-jets. The electricity is rated at $2 or less per year.

Got an open box at Staples. Printed pictures and they looked better than Wal-Mart, Wal-Greens or CVS. Ended up taking it back and buying a new one at B&H Photos. In the mean time I ordered some aftermarket ink and auto reset cartriges from ebay. I was amazed the quality was very close. Ink dries immediately. Also is very easy to print labels on cd/dvd's. Best printer I ever used. All functions work great. Scans look identical to origionals. Can't think of a bad thing to say except it does have a large footprint, so be sure you have a lot of desk space.
Got mine for 129.00. Good luck finding that deal!!

I bought the 810 artesan printer to have a dual function. As a home office machine and as a photography enthusiast. I was able to set up in a little over an hour with wireless to my secured home network with no glitches. The scanning does work from printer to computer with no problems. No paper jams even with 8X10 photographic paper. Scanned some photographs with excellent results. Was also able to scan documents into PDF formate directly which was nice. Some issues on color control between my photography software, Adobe Lightroom and the PE8. I want the software to run the color program and am able to shut off the printer control of color if necessary. I still need to find the best combination. If anybody has some suggestions I would welcome them. With the right combinations the pictures appear great. Printing 2 sided is very quick and a joy.

This is a fantastic collection. I already own the individual movies, but I just ordered this set as a gift for my nieces and nephews. These films set the bar in terms of being fun, educational, and jaw dropping to watch. I've seen two of four at an IMAX theater, and of course nothing can quite compare to seeing it on the big screen. That being said, seeing this in Blu-ray on a HD TV is pretty darn close. I've seen one of these on a standard DVD and the loss of detail starts to take the fun out of it: still enjoyable, but the visual "wow" factor is largely lost. This is a collection you really want to get in Blu-ray. 

It probably goes without saying that any adult with an interest in science and nature is going to enjoy these. The narration is first rate, the IMAX cameras are peerless, and the sound quality is stunning. 

Kids will love all of these, with the possible exception of "Coral Reef Adventure", which while fun, could have used a little more Coral Reef video (my kid's favorite part). 

Here's a quick breakdown: 

Dolphins: Narrated by Pierce Brosnan, music by Sting. This film follows several dolphin researchers as they study dolphins. Watching the human-dolphin interaction on that personal level makes it a lot of fun and the educational value for kids is high. I think this is the oldest of the four, but it doesn't show at all. 

Coral Reef Adventure: Narrated by Liam Neeson, the music is by multiple composers, but is generally Polynesian. The story of a husband and wife team researching Coral Reefs in Fiji. As mentioned above there could have been a little more Coral Reef video though I found the sections about Fiji itself very interesting. Kids might not click quite as well with this one. This is also the cheapest one if you buy it standalone (about $12). 

Volcanoes of the Deep: Narrated by Ed Harris, music by Michel Cusson. This is my personal favorite and focuses more on the subject than the researchers. The deep sea camera work is amazing. I would love to know how they did the lighting, I've never seen a deep sea film so well lit with such vibrant color. I would not have expected to find this one so riveting, but I've seen it a dozen times and I never get bored watching it. Along with covering deep sea volcanoes and geothermal vents it gives plenty of time to the amazing variety of life they support. The creatures get down right bizzare which just ups the fun for everyone. 

The Living Sea: Narrated by Meryl Streep, music by Sting. This is my kids favorite. It's a little lighter on the science and heavier on the visual eye candy. You spend about 40 minutes watching mind blowing video from around the worlds oceans, with a modest amount of education thrown in. While your kids may not learn a whole lot, it will get them excited about oceans, and it's a great stepping stone to getting on the internet and learning a little more about some part they got excited about. 

All in all a great collection that's fun for adults to watch and great way to get your kids excited about learning. It's also a really fun way to try out a new HD TV and/or surround sound system (watching "The Living Sea" for the first time will make you feel like maybe it was worth the money after all).
